CSD will assess state of mile-long sewer pipe

The Community Services District board of directors held a brief monthly meeting Wednesday, completing items on a light agenda in just under an hour. The directors spent half of the session discussing a proposal to assess the condition of a mile-long, 12-inch sewer pipe that runs along Stonehouse Road and under Jackson Road. The board approved the expenditure of up to $23,208 in water supply augmentation funds for the assessment by Kennedy/Jenks Consultants. Read more »

CSD board candidates meet the community

CSD Candidates Night

The Community Services District invited the candidates for CSD board seats to meet the community at the CSD Building Thursday night. Questions were fielded by, from left, Les Clark, Betty Ferraro, Mike Martel and John Merchant. They're running for two board seats in the November election. Ferraro and Martel are incumbents; Merchant has served on the board previously. About 18 people attended the session, which can be heard in the 98-minute audio recording below. CSD OK's plan to spend security impact fees

At its September meeting, the Community Services District board weathered a disagreement about surveillance camera use to approve a policy for spending a one-time security impact fee paid by developers. Read more »

Sue Frost, one of the candidates for county supervisor in our district, was joined by her opponent, Mike Kozlowski, in a candidates' night staged last week by Saving Our Lakes & Open Spaces, the pro-open-space community group.

CSD will hold Candidates Night Oct. 13

You're invited to the Community Services District's Candidates Night 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at the CSD Building. Four candidates are running for the two seats on the CSD's board of directors. The candidates are Les Clark, John Merchant and incumbents Betty Ferraro and Mike Martel.

Emergency water repair on Agua Vista

The Community Services District says it will be doing an emergency water line repair Thursday in the 6300 block of Agua Vista.  The job will require water to be shut off for less than five minutes, most likely between 10 a.m. and noon, the CSD said. Traffic controls may be needed at times to allow the construction equipment to get around.

CSD faces possible $150K water plant overrun

The Community Services District recently celebrated the successful completion of its new water treatment plant, but it continues to grapple with additional costs for the $12.8 million project. At its meeting this month the board approved adding $150,243 to the maximum budget to cover 34 change orders. Still to be resolved is a request for an additional $111,000 from GE, manufacturer of the ultrafiltration membrane system. Read more »
