RMA, CSD boards meet this week

The Rancho Murieta Association and Community Services District boards hold their monthly meetings this week. The RMA meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the RMA Building and the CSD meets at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the CSD Building.

Items for board action on the RMA agenda include the insurance renewal and the 2017 budget.

The CSD board will consider adopting a policy for the implementation and use of security impact fees paid by new development and discuss stormwater basins in the community.

Emergency water repair on Agua Vista

The Community Services District says it will be doing an emergency water line repair Thursday in the 6300 block of Agua Vista.  The job will require water to be shut off for less than five minutes, most likely between 10 a.m. and noon, the CSD said. CSD faces possible $150K water plant overrun

The Community Services District recently celebrated the successful completion of its new water treatment plant, but it continues to grapple with additional costs for the $12.8 million project. At its meeting this month the board approved adding $150,243 to the maximum budget to cover 34 change orders. Four running for two CSD board seats

CSD candidates

Four candidates have filed to run for two seats in this fall’s Community Services District board election, and an incumbent director is running unopposed for the remainder of his term.

Running for two four-year terms are incumbents Betty Ferraro and Mike Martel and challengers Les Clark and John Merchant. Incumbent Morrison Graf is unopposed for the two-year remainder of his term.

Martel, wrapping up his first term on the CSD, works as a prison warden for the state. He was also elected twice to the Rancho Murieta Association board and heads the Summerfest community group. Read more » about Four running for two CSD board seats

RMA will spend $31,000 for Joaquin pumps

Taking a step to address the problem of midge flies at Laguna Joaquin, the Rancho Murieta Association board Tuesday night approved the purchase of five pumps, for $31,368, to oxygenate the water, despite concerns that it's doing the work of the Community Services District. RMA, CSD boards meet this week

The Rancho Murieta Association and Community Services District boards hold their monthly meetings this week. The RMA meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the RMA Building and the CSD meets at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the CSD Building.

Items for board action on the RMA agenda include the purchase of a fountain pump for Laguna Joaquin, a contract for concrete repairs, and the appointment of Nominating Committee members and an inspector of elections.The CSD board will revisit a request from Roebbelen Construction, manager of the water treatment plant project, to increase the maximum budget for the project, and take action to place delinquent accounts on county tax rolls for collection.

Developers get wish lists from community reps

Rancher Stan Van Vleck asked that developers consider eliminating a chunk of their plans or building a large fence to help protect his property from trespassers.

Requests to eliminate almost half of the new homes proposed for Rancho Murieta North, or to build a sizable fence along the community’s eastern edge, were among the suggestions at the fourth county meeting on Rancho Murieta North development.
