RMA, CSD, development meetings this week

The Rancho Murieta Association and Community Services District will hold their regular monthly meetings this week, the RMA at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the RMA Building and the CSD at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the CSD Building. Paul Gumbinger has resigned his Community Services District board seat, effective Aug. 31. He and his wife, Louise, who are involved in multiple community activities, are moving to the Elk Grove area. Read more »

CSD enters negotiations to go solar

The Community Services District board voted unanimously last week to enter into negotiations to use solar generation for the CSD’s electricity needs. The potential savings were pegged at $1.6 million over 20 years. Read more »

CSD monthly meeting is 5 p.m. Wednesday

The Community Services District holds its regular monthly meeting 5 p.m. Wednesday at the CSD Building. Among the items on the agenda is a proposal to acquire 90 percent of the CSD's electricity through a SolarCity power purchase agreement. Electricity through solar could save the CSD $1.8 million to $1.9 million over 20 years, according to the proposal. See the agenda and board packet, including the SolarCity proposal, here.

CSD proposes steps to control development

The Community Services District board directed staff last week to hire an expert in the California Environmental Quality Act to make the CSD’s case to Sacramento County about protecting our water facilities from development impacts. The directors also discussed creating a group, with Rancho Murieta Association and community membership, to explore how to improve development plans now before the county. Read more »

CSD, RMA begin crafting new gate policy

In a 90-minute session Friday morning, Rancho Murieta Association and Community Services District directors and staff began the work of crafting a gate policy for the community, which sets rules for gate access, bar codes and other things. Seven members of the community were present. Read more »
