Dr. Cindy - Moblie Veterinary Service
Over the past few days we have called and received helpful advice from Dr. Cindy who runs a mobile veterinary service in Rancho Murieta. Today she came to our home and examined our female labrador retriever and her 10 puppies. She spent almost 1 hour and a half answering questions, removing dew claws, and examining the our dog and puppies. She was extremely helpful and professional. Her fee was well below any veterinary service I have ever encountered and she spent more time with us than any other veterinarian. I highly recommend using her services and wish I had known about Dr. Cindy's Mobile Veterinary Services earlier.

Congratulations to new mommy, Pumpkin and her people family, the Hepworth's! TEN puppies!? I thought she was only having 7? C'mon, I know you have pictures to share! Are they all yellow? Soon, like the Abshire springer spaniels, RM will have lab siblings spread all around

We found Dr. Cindy almost one year ago. She's been a life-saver for us. She only knew our old Lab for about one month before she had to be put down. She came to our house to do this extremely unpleasant procedure and in the process made the ordeal palatable due to her remarkable compassion and professional acuity. We immediately rescued another Lab/Bloodhound who came with LOTS of issues. Dr. Cindy has done a remarkable job bringing this girl back from the brink. Most vets would have given up on this beautiful little girl, not to mention making it cost prohibitive to contiue with the treatments. but Dr. Cindy hung in there and we now have a beautiful, healthy dog, We would be lost withour Dr. Cindy; she's the absolute best.

A friend contacted me privately as she couldn't find info for Dr. Cindy.
Her phone number is 354-8584 or drcindy@ranchomurieta.org
(Linda, sorry to hear about your lab...explains why I haven't seen both dogs around lately. We had to put our chocolate lab, Daisy, down last March. Her right hing leg was loaded with cancer and, literally, crumbled like crepe paper. We since have adopted, from Lab Rescue, a 6yr old black lab!)

After our old guy "Rocky", 13 year old Schnauzer took a walk about after someone left our gate open, we had the need to call Dr. Cindy suspecting he had eaten something that made him very, very sick.
Dr. Cindy came over right away, gave advice and told us what to watch for throughout the day. She came over the same late afternoon and injected fluids into our guy along with lots of TLC. Dr. Cindy also followed up via phone call the very next day where we reported a very tired, but happy schnauzer once again. (Tail wagging once again and asking for biscuits).
If it had not been for Dr. Cindy, we would have taken Rocky into the vet, left him for two nights while being watched and been presented with a huge vet bill...again! Dr. Cindy, trained at UC Davis School of Vet Medicine, is professional, knowledgeable, and best of all, cares about you and your animal enough to spend time with the patient and human. Her fees are less than a brick and mortar vet would have charged and saves you and your animal from the long drive.
Thank you Dr. Cindy, you are a blessing to us. We are glad you are around. Now, if we could just get human doctors to make house calls again!

Unless we miss our bet, the puppies currently in the classifieds -- with a photo -- are the puppies Bill wrote about in January to start this thread. Very cute...

Please have Dr. Cindy explain what she can do for your pet. She doesn't do everything a regular vet as I called her for my sick Yorkie, Dixie, and had to take Dixie to the emergency vet, as my regular vet could not see her. Dr. Cindy doesn't do blood work, etc. I would like to know what she actually can do with her mobile services and what hours and days she does work, as she is only part time. Just in case I can use her the next time.

Hi Mary Anne, sorry Dr. Cindy wasn't able to take care of Dixie for you.
The flyer she sent out a year ago says: full physical exams, vaccinations, small wound repair, new puppy or kitten care and consulting, nail trims and home euthanasia when appropriate. She can refer your pet to excellent specialists if more advanced care or diagnostics are needed.
I wonder if she can draw blood for a routine panel as long as it's not needed for an emergency evaluation?

Fair question. As far as what she can and can not do, it's best to contact her directly.
Having said that, it seems as though she's a step WAY above just a friend that really knows a lot about animals. As a caring human to my dogs, it's fallen on me several times this past 13 years to wonder if I need to hurry in, or wait out an issue with my guys since their communication skills (or my of understanding of just what message they are trying to tell me) are limited. I usually tend to hurry in and thus the high vet bills. Sometimes it's a good call to go in, other times, it's great to have someone with Cindy's knowledge and training to help you make that call.
I had our youngest schnauzer kicked in the back by a deer year before last, requiring an x-ray and staples to close the wound. No hesitation, I drove him in to Sac Vet Animal Hospital. With this last episode, it was not so clear as what to do, and luckily, Dr. Cindy was available.
I hope this helps? All in all, I'll use her service when possible and trust her guidance for services she can not provide.
