PICKLEBALL. Funny name, great game.
This wildly popular sport for all ages, now has a club in Rancho Murieta. The Rancho Murieta Pickleball Club (RMPC) is offering an Introduction to Pickleball Clinic this Wednesday, April 24, at 8:30 a.m., at Stonehouse Park.
Equipment will be provided along with experienced players who are delighted to welcome and introduce newcomers to the game.
Pickleball is a cross between tennis and ping-pong, with some elements of badminton mixed in, and is played with a paddle and whiffle ball. If you haven’t played this fun and addicting sport, this is your opportunity!
The Introduction to Pickleball Clinic is free and offers newcomers an opportunity to learn the structure of the game, and to practice and play with others. The clinic will be held at the pickleball courts located at Stonehouse Park, which offers an adjacent playground and nearby restrooms.
According to the USA Pickleball Association, there are some 4,000 pickleball facilities around the country, (double the number of 10 years ago), and Rancho Murieta players are delighted to have one of the facilities.
To experience this popular sport, join RMPC members this Wednesday, April 24, at 8:30 a.m., at Stonehouse Park. Wear weather appropriate clothing, and smooth soled shoes are best. Bring water and wear a brimmed hat or visor.
