Come on out and see some good ol' fashioned ball (with a few old time twists) played by your neighbors.

Bandits take Spring Tune-up, 14-2

This past Sunday, March 28th, the Rancho Murieta Bandits powered past the Mother Lode Miners on a tally of 14-2 in a pre-season friendly matchup. The victory came off the strength of four homeruns, strong hurling, and fine defensive play.

Scott "Leather" Oltmanns started off the game with a lead-off home run, which was followed by three more over the wall hits by Colby "Cheddar" Craig, Terry "T-Bone" Conway, and Darrin "Cookie" Kitchen. Cookie's home run came in his first at bat in a Bandit uniform! Fellow muffin, Greg "Pork Chop" Jorgensen, rounded out the offensive display on a perfect 3 for 3 performance in his Bandit debut.

Pitching by the Bandit hurlers (Matt "Splint" Corsaut, Jonathan "Junk Yard" Aberle, "Leather" Oltmanns, and Blake "Calaboose" Carmichael) kept the Miners' bats silent. "Junk Yard" and "Leather" struck out 6 consecutive batters in the 4th and 5th frames!

In addition to the encouraging signs on the field, the atmoshere at Stonehouse Park was electric. Many families and friends took in the sites and sounds of the grand ol' game, while enjoying the great weather and park views. Bandits and Miners congregated together after the game for family BBQ that lasted hours into the afternoon...truly what the spirit of the vintage game is all about.

Come on out to support the home team as they start their third season at Amador High School on Sunday April 11, at 10AM. The Bandit home opner at Stonehouse Park is the following Sunday, April 18 at 1PM.
