CSD-RMA meeting

The Community Services District and the Rancho Murieta Association boards held a joint meeting Thursday afternoon, walking around Lake Chesbro with community members to discuss different types of trails and what might be implemented as part of North development. The session, which lasted about 90 minutes, started with three dozen people, but about a third of them didn't hike around the lake to look at the different trails. We need your help. With the impasse between DISH and Hearst Television now in its eighth week, we’re wondering how Murietans tied to DISH through Greenfield Communications are making do. This national contract dispute, the latest of many, has impacted Channel 3 (KCRA) and Channel 58 (KQCA), offered by Hearst in Sacramento. While this one hurts DISH, past disputes have hurt DirecTV, so almost all of us have felt this problem. Maybe you’ve come up with solutions like an antenna, streaming service or a streaming device. Tell us, so we can help your neighbors. Drop a note to editor@ranchomurieta.com, explaining what you’re doing and how you like it. Be sure to include your phone number, so we can contact you. The Sacramento SPCA’s booth was a hit at Saturday’s Easter Egg Hunt at Stonehouse Park. Why? Easter doggies available for adoption! This one, named Zelda, found a home Saturday. When the hundreds of kids weren’t asking if they could please-please-please take a dog home, they were eating cotton candy, playing with balloon art, walking through a petting zoo and, of course, chasing Easter eggs. The Kiwanis Club, sponsor of the event, provided 6,000 eggs for three egg hunts, divided by age, and the eggs disappeared into Easter baskets in about 12 seconds.
