Hundreds turned out Sunday for wine, food, music and memberships as Entertainment, Theatre & Culture for Rancho Murieta held its annual kick-off event at the Country Club. First stop was the long table where ETC volunteers signed up members for the summer concert season at Lake Clementia Amphitheater and set them on course for raffle prizes, discounts, free tickets, upgrades and more. Then it was time to visit the tables ringing the room to sample wine, hors d'oeuvres, pizza and dessert treats from local providers, and visit with friends and neighbors while previewing the music that will be played live at the lake this summer. Al Brennan, 30-year Murietan, dies at 88

One of Al Brennan’s favorite places to eat was Sam’s Hof Brau in Sacramento, and while not all his children shared his love for prime rib sandwiches and coconut cream pie, when the family gathered after his death, everyone agreed, “Let’s go there, in memory of Pop.”  “So we went and celebrated Al’s birthday, the five kids and me … as a little, early memorial,” said Mary Brennan, his wife of 67 years.
