River Valley Garden Club celebrates 10th Year as 1st Guest speaker Farmer Fred reveals “Garden Myths”

University of California Cooperative Extension Lifetime Master Gardener Fred Hoffman is the host of the "KFBK Garden Show", Sundays 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on News/Talk 1530 KFBK, and, since 1992, the producer and host of "Get Growing",  heard each Sunday morning from 10 a.m. to Noon on Talk 650 KSTE, both in Sacramento. A Master Gardener since 1982, he has compiled over 5,000 volunteer hours.

Each week on the radio shows, "Farmer Fred", interviews garden experts from throughout Northern and Central California and tackles your gardening questions and problems.

In 2009, the Garden Writers Association of America presented Fred with two National Awards, for "Best Garden Radio Show" (for the KFBK Garden Show) and "Best Garden TV Show" (for California Heartland). He has also been honored by the California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers for "Best Website Design".

Fred and his wife, Jeanne, have plenty of yard work on their 10 acres in southern Sacramento County, where he grows heirloom organic popcorn.

Come and join us the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 for refreshments and at 7:00 PM for the program and meeting at the RMA building.
