The October Blood Drive sponsored by Rancho Murieta Women’s Club exceeded expectations!
We registered 75 people, collected 73 pints of blood and had four platelet donations. Collection hours have been permanently increased from noon to 6 which helps reduce the donors wait time.
We thank all of you who donated blood and platelets! You help save lives!!
Please note some information below from our local BloodSource:
“Thanks to the generosity of donors throughout Northern and Central California, we are the source for every drop of blood used by over 40 hospitals in 26 counties – from Merced to the Oregon border, from Vallejo to Lake Tahoe and the Santa Rosa area. And we are the source around the nation, even around the world, for other blood centers that simply cannot go it alone. To meet the daily demand for blood, BloodSource must collect an average of 700 units of blood a day. Half the blood supply comes from donors who visit our community donor centers. Half comes from donors who sign up for mobile blood drives sponsored by their local community, place of worship or employer.”
A special thanks to those who donate!
Also, “A BIG Thank You” to those who provided refreshments, made phone calls, served in the hospitality room and helped with set up and clean up in the facility at St. Vincent de Paul!
Our next Blood Drive will be in January. We hope to see you there!
