Wednesday Night come hear the official State weather expert.

 

The Rotary Club of Rancho Murieta will host the State Climatologist for California, Dr. Michael Anderson at the Rancho Murieta Country Club for a talk on El Niño, dispelling rumors and the reality of weather and water in California. Dr. Anderson will be speaking at the country club at 7 p.m. on Wednesday March 2. The public is invited.

Michael Anderson works for the California Department of Water Resources and is currently serving as State Climatologist for California. Michael began working in the Department of Water Resources Division of Flood Management (DWR-DFM) Forecasting Section in July 2005. He came to DWR after extensive graduate and post-graduate work at U.C. Davis in the area of hydroclimate system modeling and monitoring. He received his Ph.D. in 1998 and M.S. in 1993 in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UC Davis. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University in 1991.

The Rotary Club of Rancho Murieta is one of 40 clubs in the Sacramento area and 34,000 clubs worldwide with more than 1.2 million members that bring together people who want to use their expertise to improve the local community and contribute to the world around us.
