The Rotary Club of Rancho Murieta will be hosting its third annual Dogfest at Stonehouse Dog Park in Rancho Murieta on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year’s theme, “Vettes & Pets,” is a partnership with the Rancho Murieta Corvette Club to support Guide Dogs of America, the Sacramento SPCA and community youth projects. There will be a car show, costume parade, dog demonstrations, a wine garden, a local youth dance troop and musicians.

The Rotary Club has invited local dog-related businesses from Sacramento and Amador counties to host vendor tents -- last year more than 20 small businesses shared their enthusiasm for “all things dog.” There is still room for anyone who would like to participate; details are available at

Local Rotarians have funded the Stonehouse Dog Park, sent several Rancho Murieta high school juniors to leadership camp, and supported Cosumnes River Elementary School programs and dozens of other local charities and events.

Rotary International, the oldest and largest service club in the world, began in 1905 as a means for business to work together. Today the more than 1.2 million neighbors, friends and community leaders come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world.

The Rancho Murieta Rotary Club meets monthly on the first and third Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the board room of the county club.  Everyone is welcome to visit and discover what the local Rotary club is about. Club details are available at
