Please plan to join Chris Wassermann at our next RVGC meeting for a walk among the Sacramento County wildflowers—without leaving the warmth and comfort of your chair!

Chris’s interest in wildflowers began at the tender age of 6 when she convinced her mother to buy a book so she could learn flower names. She progressed from observing, to sketching, and watercolor paintings of her favorite flowers—which includes pretty much all of them.

After moving to Rancho Murieta, Chris learned that local wildflower meadows were being threatened with development. “I wanted to paint them all before they were gone!” Her paintings and plant descriptions are now featured in a guide book she and Jan Feltner collaborated on entitled Sacramento County Wildflowers. Copies will be available at the meeting.

Chris is an avid seeker of the kind of beauty that often goes unnoticed by busy people who are more intent on ‘getting there’ than enjoying the journey.

Slow down with us and delight in the breathtaking show nature provides for free.
