Niners play Turkey Shoot

With Rancho Murieta's bumper crop of wild turkeys as a gallery, the RM Niners played their annual Turkey Shoot golf tournament on a beautiful fall morning, November 13.
Lynette Flores was the overall winner, with a net score of 34. The tournament was divided into four flights. The winners:
First Flight - First, Judy Payne; second, Joan Simpson; third, Sharon Hearden; fourth, Mary Beth Alameida; and fifth, Judy Benjamin.
Second Flight - First, Barbara Buzdon; second, Barbara Saevke; third, Barbara Armstrong; fourth, Marti Gatlin; and fifth, Linda Neth.
Third Flight - First, Pat Lytle; second, Fran Hubbert; third, Ev Carpenter; fourth, Alene Reeve; and fifth, Judy Somers.
Fourth Flight - First, Barbara Harris; second, Jo Ann Patwell; third, Carole O'Brien; fourth, Jan Dutrow; and fifth, Dennie Standart.
At the Niners' general meeting following the tournament, various awards for the month of October were presented. Most improved players for the month were: First, Sharon Hearden; second, Sally Paravantes; third, Betty Ferraro; fourth, Judy Payne; and fifth, Peggie Miller. Chip-in winners were led by Karin Craig, with two, followed by Candy Duncan, Chris Pasek, Jan Copeland, Ev Carpenter, Elaine Fowler, and Joni Sullwold, each with one. Birdies: Joni Sullwold, Toni Vaughan, and Karin Craig. And Break 50: Sharon Hearden and Mary Beth Alameida.
Captain Pat Lytle congratulated Chris Pasek on her recent hole in one at Del Rio Country Club. And Co-Captain Fran Hubbert shared information on the coming year's schedule of tournaments. The highlights: April 23 - Guest Day; June 12 - Niners Twilight; June 18 - Invitational; August 25 - l8 Holers host Niners; August 27 - TOC (South Front), September 1 (South Back), and September 3 (North Front); October 15 - Guest Day; and October 18 - Susan G. Komen.
