Niners have fun with a springtime guest day

119 Niners and Guests gathered together April 2nd for our Spring Time is Golf Time Guest Day tournament. The weather was cool at Tee Time but soon warmed up with play on the North Course, following a Continental Breakfast served in the 19h Hole.

Our committee Co-Chaired by Barbara Saevke and Pat Tomberg presented us with a challenging tournament format.  There were two flights - the Daffodil Flight and the Tulip Flight.  Prizes were awarded to the 5 lowest scoring teams on each side with the traditional Closest-to-the-pin and Accuracy drive holes.  

Lunch was served in the Murieta Room decorated for the occasion with fresh flower arrangements. Beautiful costume wrist watches were wrapped in the napkins and placed at each table setting, for Tee prizes.  Congratulations to our committee for an outstanding tournament! Thank you to our wonderful Country Club staff for making this such a wonderful day from start to finish.  

Tournaments take planning and a lot of work and our staff was always there to help our committee.

The Niners General Meeting and Charm & Putt Tournament was held on April 9.

Charm AND Putt Winner for April is Cheryl James with 13 putts and low net of 27!  Cheryl will be wearing our Niner Charm this month.

Membership Chair, Karen Craig welcomed new member Victoria Bobis. 

Joan Bowen is working on WNHGA's 19th Annual Corena Green Classic for Junior Girls.Golf for Girls Ages 8 - 17, Flights by ages.  Trophies and prizes in each group with $4,750 in Scholarships to the winners in the 14 - 17 age group.  The tournament will be played Tuesday, August 11, at the San Jose Country Club .  This is a terrific opportunity for our Junior Golfers and Joan is working on this event for our local Niner group.  Please contact her for information at 354-2518 or email joanson@ranchomurieta.org.  All girls are welcome to participate.
