If you like good food, this is a big weekend for eating (and sipping) in Rancho Murieta. Saturday evening there's the annual Blues & Brews event, and Sunday dinnertime there's Wine & Wheels, a large food-truck gathering (and more), at the Country Club.
Blues and Brews: The 21-and-over event, for residents and their guests, takes place Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. at Lake Clementia Amphitheater. The 12th annual event features live music by Crystal Image band, beers and wines from local makers, and local food vendors. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at gate. Purchase tickets at Plaza Foods, the Local Bean or Rancho Murieta Biz Center in the Plaza. Plaza Foods will be selling $25 advance tickets until 6 p.m. Saturday. All proceeds benefit community youth projects through the Kiwanis Club. Blues & Blues is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, Plaza Foods and the Rancho Murieta Association.
Wine & Wheels: Some of the area’s best food trucks will be on the 18th fairway of the North Course -- along with classic cars, a live band and two wine and beer bars – in this event, hosted by the Country Club Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Admission is free. Also participating will be a dozen Amador wineries providing tastings of different wines from Sobon, Cooper Vineyards, Story, Gioiella and Morse, Renwood, Dobra Zemlja, Borjon, Amador Brewery and more. The tasting will cost $18, which includes a souvenir etched wine glass to take home. There will be seven trucks from SactoMoFo, considered Sacramento’s premier mobile food company, on site making “to order” dishes. Live entertainment will be provided by the Roni Yadao band, and dozens of classic cars will be staged around the fairway.
