Coat dinner

Red square Gallery: 35 photos of the Coat Dinner and volunteers at work

The annual Coat Dinner, where the price of admission is a warm coat or a sleeping bag, filled the social hall of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church Friday evening. While some volunteers collected and bagged scores of coats, others prepared and served a homemade chili dinner that was enjoyed in fellowship and the spirit of the season. The bounty of warm items -- coats, sleeping bags, blankets, scarves, gloves and hats -- benefits the Loaves and Fishes and Union Gospel Mission programs for the homeless.
