[Updated  6:35 p.m.] The CHP reports Jackson Road has reopened after a head-on collision on the stretch between Stonehouse and Latrobe roads. The collision between two SUVs occurred about 4:30 p.m. Before the road reopened, eastbound and westbound traffic was directed to use Stonehouse and Latrobe roads to bypass the accident scene, according to Sgt. Jim Bieg of Rancho Murieta Community Services District Security. One report said a motorist was driving erratically and caused the collision. The accident involves major injuries, and a helicopter was used to transport one of the victims, Bieg said.

Thanks Lisa

5:49 p.m. Lisa's information is correct; can bypass accident scene with Latrobe/Stonehouse, although heavy traffic/delays, even on Stonehouse. Nephew, CHP LT, visiting us, just reported in conversation with dispatch, can bypass on Latrobe/Stonehouse. Attempting through Security to get Escuela Gate opened.

I came upon the accident minutes after it occured and it looked pretty bad. This would be a very good time to send positive thoughts to all involved...
