Fishing Day

Kids Fishing Day is a chance for veteran fisherman to teach novices.

Sign-up takes place this week for the 16th annual Kiwanis Club Kids Fishing Day. The event happens 9 a.m. Sunday at Lake Clementia. Parental waiver forms are now available at the Rancho Murieta Business Center in Murieta Plaza. Attendance is limited to the first 120 children signed up.

The free event is open to local children from kindergarten through 8th grade.

Kids Fishing Day is co-sponsored by the Rancho Murieta Fishing Club and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. It offers lessons on the importance of good water quality, maintaining habitat for fish, fishing ethics, casting and fishing, and the care and cleaning of caught fish. Trout are planted for the event.

All participants must check in at Lake Clementia Sunday morning.

A free barbecue lunch is provided for children and their parents at 11 a.m.  Students from the Rancho Murieta Key Club will be available to help prepare and serve food, and assist with cleanup. The student leadership and community service program is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club.

For information, contact event chairman Rich Gilmour at 354-0550.

Large Pothole Scott Road

as of a.m Monday, 27 March: CAUTION, large (unforgiving) pothole, relatively hidden by dips and H2O in "dips ride" on Scott Road, 1.0 miles north of Latrobe, in northbound lane (east side of Scott).  Coming on this one at speed can cause swerve and/or number on the vehicle wheel/suspension. Reported to County Transportation X311, report #31683954.

Thank you for pothole info

Thank you Terry so much!.  I'm heading to Folsom later this morning.  I believe I know which one you're talking about but good to know it's much worse and now hidden by water.

True but thank you anyway

Very true Myrna, but I didn't even notice what it was posted under...just saw the heading and looked.  Very thankful I did see it as that would have been a problem for me this morning.  Besides, just read on FB that someone's daughter blew out her tire this morning at that spot  )-:

Pothole Scott "Dips Ride"

Thanks RM.com for finding the "proper home" for the alert. Sorry to offend your Forum cop who apparently has different "etiquette" priorities. I was concerned with the exingency to immediately alert readers of a potential for swerving head-on injury or death at that Scott "Dips Ride" site, which it is, what with lack of vertical visibility for oncoming traffic and the H2O/speed, and possibly darkness considerations. If such read alerts prevent even one accident/incident, then I'd post in whatever media/forum immediately at hand I choose, again. This public "etiquette" critique conversation should not even be necessary.
