A visit from the ice cream lady

Ice cream

If you thought you heard the music of an ice cream truck outside Saturday, you were right.  Alicia Correia of the Optimists handed out frozen treats all over Rancho Murieta -- for kids, 25 cents; for adults, whatever they wanted to donate. Correia said the idea was to give Murieta kids their first experience with an ice cream truck.  Her day started overcast on the South but ended with hot August sun on the North.

Thank you Alicia and Optimist Crew!

Alicia has been talking about getting an ice cream truck out here for the kiddos for at least a year now.  It was such a treat to see her dream for the kids in the community come true today.  Many thanks to the Optimist Club and Alicia for giving Charlie his first ever ice cream truck experience, right here in RM!

Where are you yummy ice cream!

Does anyone know where the truck is or how to track it?  We would like our son to be able to join in the fun!

Bread Truck
What a great thing to do. Ice cream trucks are among my fondest memories from childhood. But, one of my first such memories was actually a bread truck all painted up with music playing that gave away little loaves of Donald Duck bread --this was in 1956. I was 6 years old, and I remember being so excited that I took my loaf in to my mother and demanded a PB&J be made with it immediately!

I hope they come back through!

We would love to join in the fun.  Let us know if there is anything we can do to make it happen again!
