[Updated 11:14 p.m.] Forecasters late Monday lowered their predictions for overnight winds and reduced slightly their prediction for Cosumnes River levels. The predicted river levels still would approach the levels of 10 days ago, when the river flooded in spots around the area. Late Monday, Deer Creek once again flooded Scott Road to a record level.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for rain and showers overnight, with south winds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts to 45 mph.

The Cosumnes River is predicted to crest near 14.5 feet at Michigan Bar Tuesday, approaching the same level that flooded Rancho Murieta’s South Course and breached levees in Wilton Feb. 10-11.

The flood level at Michigan Bar is 12 feet. At 10:30 p.m. Monday, the level there was 11.93 feet. On Feb. 10, the level topped 15 feet.

Shortly before 10 p.m., the Deer Creek level at Scott Road topped 164.1 feet, which the county considers the record at that location, set in 2006. This makes the third time this rainy season that the 2006 mark has been exceeded. It also happened on Dec. 15 and Jan. 10.
