Open-house kickoff for Relay for Life

An open house for the community's second annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraiser took place Sunday afternoon at the Rancho Murieta Association Building, attracting a number of residents who signed up for relay teams and to volunteer their help. "It's nice that people this year know what we're talking about. It's a lot easier," said event chair Brenda Carmichael, shown talking with her sister, Sharon Dodson, a team captain. The relay takes place at Stonehouse Park July 24 and 25. Information about the event is available at www.relayforlife.org/ranchomurietaca. Coverage of last year's event is here and a video of the event is here.

It's that time again. Relay 4 Life had its official kick-off today. We are going to use our recycling efforts to help find a cure for cancer. You can help. Please let us know if we can pick-up your aluminum or plastic recycling to help our team reach its goal of $2400! With your help, we can do this by JULY! Thanks in advance for your support!!

Thanks to everyone who came to support our kick-off/open house yesterday! We had a great time reconnecting with "relayers" from last year and meeting new, enthusiastic participants. Best of all, we registered 5 BRAND NEW teams who did not participate in the event last year. We're off to a great start! Teams are forming throughout the spring, but the sooner the better!
For more information, to sign-up as a participant, or to register a team, visit our event website, www.relayforlife.org/ranchomurietaca or contact me at bacarmichael@hotmail.com or 354-2496.
thank you Rancho Murieta!
