Purple Ones

Fans of Prince -- or good, beat-driven music -- will love Saturday's ETC show, with The Purple Ones.

ETC's summer of music kicks off at Lake Clementia Amphitheater Saturday night at 8:30 with The Purple Ones -- a tribute to the music of Prince.

Based in Oakland, the 10-piece band pays homage to Prince's 25 albums and 100 million records sold worldwide.

The Purple Ones, who have been packing Bay Area venues such as Bimbo's 365 Club, Slim's, the Red Devil Lounge and many more, are made up of four horns, two guitars, keyboards, drums and fronted by the uncanny voices of Kazam Ali and Pamela Fields.

The band's show offers hit after hit and deep cuts with classics such as "Little Red Corvette," "1999," "I Feel for You," "I Would Die 4 U," "Controversy," "It’s Gonna Be A Beautiful Night," "Purple Rain," "When Doves Cry," "Lets Go Crazy," "Darling Nikki," "Computer Blue," "Dirty Mind" and many more.

Tickets can be purchased at the Business Center, The Local Bean or at the door. They're $20 for ETC members, $30 for non-members. There's more information about ETC here.
