New Joint Security Committee holds first meeting

The first meeting of the newly reconstituted Joint Security Committee takes place Monday at 10 a.m. at the Community Services District Building. The CSD and the Rancho Murieta Association will be represented by directors who were appointed to the committee. The Country Club, Villas, Murieta Village, Equine Center and other commercial interests also have been invited to participate. The agenda is here. A Murietan who believes his family witnessed a drug transaction at the North Gazebo is critical of Security's response and the community's unwillingness to confront the issue of drug abuse. Car vandalized with can of house paint

A car parked in the driveway of a home on Carreta Lane was vandalized with paint late Saturday or early Sunday.

“This is a felony. That’s what the Sheriff’s Department told me,” the owner of the white 1998 Mercedes said Sunday morning as he attempted to clean up the paint caked on his car and smeared on the driveway and walkway.
