Foggy sun

The fog that has grayed our days is due to make a return in the coming week, the National Weather Service says.  But it is midwinter, you know, and this is what we get instead of snow.  Bill Gengler captured this shot of the sun losing a battle with the fog the other morning. Deer Creek floods Scott Road

Thanks to those who've shared the news that Deer Creek is causing the usual flooding problems on Scott Road north of Rancho Murieta.  At 10:30 a.m. Deer Creek was more than a foot above flood stage.  The Cosumnes at Michigan Bar was at the "Monitor" stage and had four feet to go before it's at flood stage. To keep up with the latest, there's a "Rivers" link in the front-page Weather that connects you to a county web site that tracks levels throughout the Sacramento area. Scroll down to Cosumnes River/North Delta and you'll see the Deer Creek entries.

Tree down

Rancho Murieta Association crews were at work Wednesday morning cleaning up trees toppled by the wind.  This one fell across a driveway on Fuente de Paz at Guadalupe Lake.  Another tree fell earlier, on De La Cruz Drive near Bridge House Lane, and RMA crews cut it up and got it out of the street.  Neither falling tree did any apparent damage.  If you learn of any storm problems, please alert us at 354-3916 or editor@ranchomurieta.com or add a comment here.
