RMA cable plans outage Thursday in large part of lower Murieta North

The Rancho Murieta Association says its upgrade of the cable/broadband system will prompt a planned outage from 5 to 7 a.m. Thursday in the area of Pera Drive, Lago, Lindero, Carreta, Brisa, Colina, Pescado, Neva, Cayo, Plano, and Crotina. as well as a small portion on Guadalupe near Pera.  The RMA says this repair will correct a problem with the fiber node on Pera Drive.

RMA is looking for candidates for two board seats

The Rancho Murieta Association is seeking candidates for two seats on the board of directors, currently held by Dick Cox and Jim Moore. The terms are for three years. They begin Dec. 1 and end in November 2013. Candidates must be RMA members in good standing, which is defined as a member who is current in the payment of all assessments, fees, charges, and fines levied against the member and his or her lot.  Read more »

[Full story published Aug. 19] At its meeting Tuesday, the Rancho Murieta Association board of directors talked about the next steps in the planning process for a $3.8 million community center and swimming pool and criticized a proposal for the North Gate remodel that creates a two-lane U-turn configuration to retain the left turn on Lago Drive. The board also heard about a business plan for the cable operation and approved sending architectural rules for common area lease agreements to the membership for a 30-day comment period.  Read more »

RMA is pushing for North Gate traffic plan that keeps Lago turn

The Rancho Murieta Association’s determination to keep the left turn onto Lago Drive is the driving force in the new traffic design for the North Gate. RMA General Manager Nick Arther said engineers for the Pension Trust Fund for Operating Engineers had opposed the turn but came up with a design that a Maintenance Committee member called “not a lot different from what we have now” to accommodate the RMA’s insistence. Although the Community Services District Security Committee saw the plan last week and found it lacking, the RMA Maintenance Committee voted Monday to recommend the plan to the RMA board.  Read more »

[News briefs published July 20 and 21] Questions about the community’s water planning remain unresolved after seven hours of meetings this week.  Development critic Janis Eckard (photo) claims the community would be deprived of water for landscaping and possibly for drinking and fighting fires during a severe drought because the Rancho Murieta Community Services District’s drought planning for the community requires a 50 percent reduction in water use during a 200-year drought, such as the state experienced in 1976-77.  Read more »

RMA plans South cable repairs Friday morning

The Rancho Murieta Association is planning cable repairs that will interrupt service in part of Murieta South Friday morning.  An e-mail announcement by Paul Venturella, the RMA's communications manager, said a failing fiber optic node will be replaced on Murieta Parkway South and Celebrar Street.  Customers in the immediate area will be affected, Venturella said, with work starting at 7 a.m. and wrapping up by 9.

The Rancho Murieta Association board of directors Tuesday night heard a presentation about the community’s water supply by a development critic who claims the Community Services District has manipulated numbers to serve developers.
