Air show coming to RM Airport May 19

A May 19 air show at Rancho Murieta Airport will offer a variety of planes.

Rancho Murieta Airport  is holding an air show Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in celebration of Armed Forces Day. The event features rock-star pilots of the air show industry, military and warbirds fly-bys, airplane and helicopter rides, and a variety of food and refreshments.

RM Airport challenges its security tax bill

Rancho Murieta Airport is challenging the amount it's taxed for Security services, a challenge that has been playing out for months in Community Services District committee meetings.  The challenge to the tax -- the foundation of the community's security operation -- goes to the full CSD board Wednesday. 'Mayday' call at Airport ends safely

Event honors old-time planes

All makes and models of new and old fabric-covered airplanes were welcome at the first annual West Coast Ragwing Round-up, held at Rancho Murieta Airport over the weekend. Visiting pilots talked shop, displayed colorful aircraft and showed what they could do in the air. Saturday's schedule included a barbecue dinner followed by an awards presentation. Two injured, one critically, in accident at RM Airport

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire responded when the aircraft crashed around 9:45 Thursday morning.

Two men in a small, experimental aircraft were injured when the plane skidded, ran off the runway at Rancho Murieta Airport and flipped over about 9:45 a.m. Thursday. One man was critically injured and was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center, according to Capt. Christian Pebbles of Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. Planning group hears proposed changes for Airport, Sloughhouse Inn

A plan to add storage for recreational vehicles and boats on 15 acres of unused property at Rancho Murieta Airport made its debut at the Cosumnes Community Planning Advisory Council Wednesday evening. The council also heard a proposal intended to divide the historic Sloughhouse Inn property to help sell it and a request for a use permit authorizing the present scope of operations at the Davis Ranch produce stand. New airport owner wants to see business take off again
