Guest passes available for Easter weekend

Guest passes are being offered for Easter weekend to help speed holiday traffic through the gates and eliminate backups, Security Chief Greg Remson announced Friday. Residents can pick up passes similar to the ones used for the Fourth of July at the Rancho Murieta Association office during regular business hours. Twins Madelyn and Rory Torres, 3 years old next month, were among the many children who enjoyed a visit with Santa Claus at the annual Country Club Santa Brunch Sunday. Community Church offers three nights of holiday entertainment

The last of three December Evenings, the Rancho Murieta Community Church's 11th annual holiday entertainment and hospitality event, took place Saturday night at the church. The event featured a drama, "The Christmas Rewind," and a choir performance of Christmas classics from the musical "God Coming Down," arranged by Travis Cottrell. Chilly weather didn’t deter families from their appointment to see Santa Friday evening.  The annual event at the North Gazebo drew a couple of hundred fans for the official start of Rancho Murieta’s holiday season.  Santa arrived in a fire truck with Mrs. Claus and lighted the Christmas tree, and dancers from Studio 16 performed holiday numbers.  The Optimist Club sponsored the event and provided cookies and hot chocolate. Santa and tree-lighting mark the start of holiday events on Friday

The holiday season in Rancho Murieta officially begins 6 p.m. Friday with the tree-lighting ceremony at the North Gazebo sponsored by the Optimist Club. Other holiday entertainments scheduled for the following week include the Children's Theater Workshop production of "Twas the Night before Christmas" and December Evenings, the Rancho Murieta Community Church's annual drama and musical event. Sheriff's volunteers collect toys

Rancho Murieta's Volunteers in Partnership with the Sheriff are joining other VIPS to collect new, unwrapped toys to be given to low-income families in the south area of Sacramento County this holiday season. Donations can be dropped off at the James L. Noller Safety Center, located across Jackson Road from the South Gate, on Mondays and Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. when the VIPS staff the center. Moms Mall packs them in for shopping

The first annual Moms Mall sponsored by the Rancho Murieta Moms' Group attracted hundreds to the Villas Clubhouse Thursday for an evening of holiday shopping provided by women in the community.
