Brunch

The Rancho Murieta Country Club held its annual Santa brunch Sunday. Everybody wore their Sunday best and were on their best behavior for their meeting with the jolly old fellow. Two-year-olds Olivia Polk and Axel Spanner were among the many children who enjoyed the club's hospitality.

Home Tour

Later in the day, the Rancho Murieta Women’s Club “Ring in the Holidays” home tour offered members and their guests the chance to see how seven Murieta homes are decorated for the holidays.  There were refreshments afterwards at the Rancho Murieta Association Building.  Special holiday dishes and the glow of candles, above, bring the holiday theme into the dining room of the home of Janet and Doug Waldie.  See 20 more photos from the home tour here... Organizations in Rancho Murieta are helping those in need this holiday season by collecting donations of food, toys, warm clothing and other items. Here's a list of ways we can all play Santa.

The Kiwanis Club is coordinating the 2009 Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign for Rancho Murieta. Collection areas include the post office, MarShaTes, From My Heart, Plaza Foods, Elements Spa, and The Learning Center in the Plaza, as well as the Country Club, the Village Clubhouse, the Operating Engineers Training Center, the Country Store, and Cosumnes River Elementary School. Toys should be new and unwrapped so they can be identified for age appropriateness. Read more » about Want to help the needy for the holidays? Here's how

Under the direction of Lee Holm, the choral group sang everything from "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" to "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," complete with red noses. The group specializes in spreading good will and cheer with performances of favorites from the past. They will be featured performers at the community's tree-lighting event Nov. 27 at the North Gazebo.
