Security reports minor Halloween vandalism

Pumpkins were smashed on the North and South and there were a couple calls about parties, but Halloween was "pretty quiet all in all," said Security Chief Greg Remson Monday morning.

Incidents reported in the security logs from Friday into the early hours of  Sunday included "a handful" of complaints about smashed pumpkins. "Sometimes they do  quite a bit of damage on the Halloween decorations," he said.

It wasn't entirely routine, however. "We had a car driving down the South throwing  pumpkins out of the sunroof. That's something new," Remson said. Read more » about Security reports minor Halloween vandalism

Crafts and artisan gift items will be offered Nov. 14 and 15

Rancho Murieta holiday shoppers will have a weekend in November when the shopping comes to you.

Murieta Village will hold its annual Craft Faire and Bake Sale Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Murieta Village Clubhouse. Featured items include gourds, holiday decorations, jewelry, cards, photos, ceramics, crocheted items, walnuts, homemade jams, jellies and baked goods. Shoppers will be welcomed with cookies and coffee at the door.

The Murieta Artisans Holiday Festival will be held at the Country Club Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year's festival features the work of pastel artist Suzanne McCelland. Read more » about Crafts and artisan gift items will be offered Nov. 14 and 15

Rancho Murieta celebrated another Fourth of July with the all-American small-town traditions (think Mayberry with golf carts) that make it the biggest day of the year, and set some records doing it.
