The spray park at Riverview Park opened Saturday afternoon with a dedication ceremony that recognized Summerfest's $68,000 donation with a plaque naming the new park in the volunteer group’s honor. Park funds were used for $167,000 of the cost. The spray park transformed an unattractive and unused area between the basketball court and the playground, said Rancho Murieta Association President Jim Moore in his opening remarks. Once Moore cut the ribbon, a crowd of kids surged forward and water began flowing to the rings, bucket, mushroom and other park features. Music played as RMA staff and board members cooked hot dogs, spun cotton candy and made snow-cones for everybody. Read more » about Video/photos: Party for new spray park

Walt Dunajski has been brightening Anillo Way with his Christmas decorations for more than 20 years.  In particular, people come from all over to see his trains, which cover the front lawn. RM Bandits take another championship

Rancho Murieta's Bandits, who play in the Gold Country Vintage Base Ball League, won their third California Cup title in four years over the weekend at Stonehouse Park. They defeated the New Almaden Cinnabars 8-1 Saturday to move into Sunday's championship game against the Mother Lode Miners. The Bandits won that game 9-4 for the title.  Here's a video look at the team and their game, old-time "base ball."

RMA acts to rebuild North Gate and bill Villas

At its meeting Tuesday, the Rancho Murieta Association board of directors moved ahead with plans to rebuild the North Gate, rules for a bicycle pump track and a contract for asphalt resurfacing work.
