RMA seeks applications for board seat

The Rancho Murieta Association board announced Friday that it is accepting applications to fill the board seat that Larry Shelton resigned earlier this week. The remaining term runs through November 2021. Application forms are available at the RMA Building, and the deadline to file is 4 p.m. March 15. The board will hold a special meeting in late March to select the replacement, the RMA said.

Bike race postponed until next year

The Cosumnes Crusher bicycle race, scheduled for the area in May, won't happen this year, event organizers say. Read more »

A soggy Men's Club Toughman

Our popular Toughman event was held Saturday, Feb. 23, on a soggy North Course.  Special thanks to the set up team of Jared Alexander, Dennis Guertin, and Joe Alves Jr. for their great work of placing the pins in difficult but fair positions.  Thirty-six teams entered the event hoping to snag the title of “Toughman.” Celebrity entrants included GM Ron Svien, Greens Superintendent Gary Skolnik and DOG (Director of Golf) Don Thames.   The shot of the day was a hole-in-one by Stef Gran on Hole 16, playing 174 yards. The pin was cut back left, 5 feet from the fringe.  When asked what club was used, Stef stated, “a choked 5 iron.”  Well done Stef, especially the libations provided after the round. Read more »

RMA director resigns over recent strife

Larry SheltonLarry Shelton, a Rancho Murieta Association director in his second term on the job, announced his resignation in a public statement early Wednesday, pointing to “too many negative, controversial and disrespectful people who have no integrity about how they treat their fellow citizens.” Read more »

CSD: Annual reviews, concealed weapons

The Community Services District board last week heard annual presentations from the Security and Field Operations departments and approved a policy on workplace violence after the board president commented that it leaves him unable to carry his licensed concealed weapon on CSD property. Read more »
