Rancho Murieta Country Club hosts the 10th annual "Tee Up Fore a Cure" tournament benefiting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Sunday, Oct. 12. Last year the tournament raised more than $50,000 for the cause.

The tournament is open to all golfing members of the club and their guests. The entry fee is $65 per member and $130 per guest. The cost includes carts for guests, wine and dinner.

The day begins with registration, opening of the silent auction, and a putting contest from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The golf format is a four-person scramble shotgun. Tournament play begins at 1 p.m.

After golf, there will be no-host cocktails and the silent auction will continue. Dinner at 6:30 p.m. will be followed by the live auction, awards and raffles.

Since the golfing field is usually sold out, dinner-only guests are encouraged. The cost is $45 per person. Entry forms may be obtained at the Country Club office.

The top raffle prize is a new 2008 Columbia ParCar Eagle-LE Golf Cart.

Raffle tickets are $5 and are now available at club events or by contacting Lee Holm, 354-8756, or Marilyn Moore, 354-8472.

Auction items include winemaker and gourmet dinners for eight to 10 people, a five-night Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor condo golf package and seven-night Las Vegas resort package, spa and dining certificates, and a golf
outing at the Olympic Club San Francisco with Murietan Don Thames, who competed in the 2008 U.S. Senior Open Golf Tournament.

Individual hole sponsors are needed. For information about sponsorship, contact Ashlye Shieds at 354-1118 or ashlyeshieds@sbcglobal.net.

All donations to the tournament event are tax deductible. For information about donating, contact Victoria and Clint Souza, 354-8619.
