Club cleanup

Tee markerThe Country Club has been cleaning up since Saturday, trying to make the best of Mother Nature’s mess on Holes 10 and 11 of the South Course, which flooded Friday when the Cosumnes River rushed in. General Manager Bill Armstrong says they’ve got seven to 10 people on the job every day, and the work will continue for another week or 10 days. These shots were taken Monday, when workers were cleaning up the 10th tee, which was submerged halfway up the tee-box hill. (The marker stone, right, was completely submerged.) The South Course reopened for play Tuesday, minus Holes 10 and 11, which will be closed for another few weeks, Armstrong estimates. Click photos for larger images
