About 200 people attended Saturday afternoon’s presentation by the Country Club on the possibility of allowing a Southern California company to assume ownership of the club by buying out the club’s lease. It was the first of three meetings, with repeat sessions 3 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday. If you’ve been reading RM.com coverage (here and here), there were no big surprises, though Saturday’s session got off to a rocky start when the man proposing the deal, golf industry veteran James A. (Bob) Husband, had airline delays in Southern California and didn’t arrive until more than an hour into the meeting. His partner, Gary Dee, addressed the group using Husband’s presentation. Vince Lepera, club president, outlined the background of the deal and why he and the board strongly support it. The club plans to make a video of the meeting available soon. Full coverage of the meetings is upcoming at RanchoMurieta.com.
