The Rancho Murieta Association will hold its regular monthly board meeting 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the RMA Building. Wooden bridge will be closed much of Sept. 20

The community’s pedestrian bridge over the Cosumnes will be closed Sept. 20 from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. as the Rancho Murieta Association works with a consulting engineer on a bridge maintenance inspection. CPR class coming up Saturday

CPR training for children and adults will be offered Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rancho Murieta Association Building. The class for kids ages 10 and over will be held from 9 a.m. to noon; adults class will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Fee is $40 for CPR only and $60 for CPR and first aid. The event is offered by the RMA Recreation Committee. Roz was a sunny girl as she awaited her ... *whisper* shots ... with owner Rich Coplen at the SPCA van Sunday afternoon at the Gazebo. The event, arranged by the Rancho Murieta Association, allowed Murietans to have their pets microchipped, get shots and see a vet. Twenty-two pets were helped. Opening a new field and saying thanks

Alex Bauer, Rancho Murieta Association president, and Sherry Carrillo, Summerfest committee member, wield giant scissors to cut a ribbon opening the new Summerfest Sports Field Saturday morning at Stonehouse Park. Bauer thanked Summerfest for its 18-year history of supporting community improvements. Summerfest donated $68,000 to help build the field and add lights to the dog park. Pet microchip sessions set for Sept. 9 and 23

Sunday's chance to have your pet microchipped by the SPCA, which was canceled, has been rescheduled to two sessions, Sept. 9 and 23, at the Gazebo, probably from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., the Rancho Murieta Association said Monday. It's not known yet whether a scout troop will be present to collect items for the SPCA's animals. As a bonus, anyone who signed up at Sunday's session will get a free microchip (though Murietans will donate their fee to the SPCA's good work, we're sure). CSD questions traffic enforcement impacts

Here's a look at CSD enforcement in several categories in the last year. These numbers are taken from monthly reports to the CSD board and, when those were not available, from the daily Security Logs. “Parking” combines driveway and street parking violations. The August 2018 numbers are a projection based on the first 20 days of the month.

While the Rancho Murieta Association board has pushed for and welcomed stepped-up traffic enforcement, Community Services District directors took a critical view of its impact on patrol time at their meeting this month.
