RMA says North cable problem is fixed

The intermittent cable problem affecting broadband and cable TV service in parts of Murieta North has been solved, Rancho Murieta Association General Manager David Stiffler said Friday.

He said the problem turned out to be a bad section of cable. The faulty cable was located on Venado Drive Friday morning and a new section was installed by 10 a.m.

RMA staff and cable consultants had been working on the problem for more than a week, according to Stiffler.  It affected customers along Puerto and Venado drives, in the northwest part of the community.

The Rancho Murieta Association is searching for the cause of an intermittent cable problem that affects TV and broadband service in the northwest part of the community.

"We've got a major problem around the Venado-Puerto area. ... It may be a little bit more widespread than that. It's not all of the North," RMA General Manager David Stiffler said Thursday, and added, "We've been working on this thing for over a week"

RMA personnel passed out flyers to homes in the area Wednesday alerting residents to the problem and the search for the cause, and thanking them for patience and understanding. Read more » about RMA battles cable-broadband problem in Venado-Puerto area

Rancho Murieta's 2007 Fourth of July celebration had all the traditional elements – a red, white and blue parade led by fire trucks, an afternoon at the lake, and fireworks filling the night sky to end the day. Did we mention the temperature topped 100?

In the early morning cool, while the Kiwanis Club served up pancakes at the Gazebo, runners in the 25th annual Fun Run headed down Lago Drive to begin the 5K run. Once again Kyle Fujitsubo emerged as the fastest person in Rancho Murieta, breaking the 16:30 record he set last year with a time of 15:43.

Tina Bowers won in the women’s division with a time of 20:57. Read more » about It's a Murieta July 4 -- heat, fun and red, white and blue

RMA supports effort to build skate park

Progress on three projects took center stage at the Rancho Murieta Association board meeting Tuesday – the skateboard park, the Country Club's plans for Bass Lake, and the cable system's move towards digital broadcasting.

The board approved a memorandum of understanding with Rancho Murieta Youth Enrichment Advocacy for a skateboard park. The agreement will allow the group to begin fundraising efforts to build the 10,000-square-foot skateboard park, which is estimated to cost just under $350,000. The facility would be located at Stonehouse Park. The park will be turned over to the RMA to own, operate and maintain when completed. Read more » about RMA supports effort to build skate park

As the community celebrated the opening of the pedestrian bridge Saturday, perhaps the most remarkable thing about the 410-foot wood span is that it exists at all. And that's something destined to be forgotten as the bridge takes its place in the life of the community. Read more » about In the end, maybe it's remarkable that RM has a bridge at all
