Despite requests from community organizations, the state Department of Transportation says it won’t reduce the Highway 16 speed limit from 55 to 45 mph in the Rancho Murieta area. Woman hurt in two-car crash at North Gate

A woman was taken away by ambulance with a possible broken arm after two cars collided on Jackson Road at the North Gate around 8:30 p.m. Friday. CHP Officer Armando Montoya said a Chevy Tahoe was eastbound on Jackson Road with a man and woman in the front seat and three children in the back when it collided with a Subaru SUV and its solo driver turning from westbound Jackson onto Murieta Drive. Montoya said each driver claimed he had the green light. Montoya called it a low-speed crash. Both vehicles had Rancho Murieta bar-code stickers. Cart driver injured on Murieta Parkway

Passersby stopped to help a woman after the cart she was driving flipped and landed on her on Murieta Parkway near the second Guadalupe Drive before 9 a.m. Thursday. Some volunteers lifted the cart while others pulled the driver free. The Rancho Murieta Association board voted unanimously Tuesday night to ask the state to lower the speed limit on Jackson Road to 45 mph as it passes through Rancho Murieta. Car crashes into front of home – backwards

A house on Terreno Drive was damaged when a neighbor’s vehicle left the garage across the street where it was being worked on, crossed the street and crashed backwards into the home about 11 a.m. Tuesday. The residents were out, and the vehicle's owner was uninjured. “Nobody was hurt, just the car and the house,” said Security Chief Jeff Werblun at the scene.  He said the vehicle was a classic Shelby Cobra replica kit car. Cart overturns, driver injured

The CHP said this cart's driver was transported to the hospital after the vehicle overturned at about 8:30 a.m. Friday at Rancho Murieta Airport. CHP Officer M. Lieb said the driver, the only occupant, hit the bushes that line the area, by the airport’s hangars, and the cart overturned. An eyewitness described the driver as an older woman.
