CSD to hold four community meetings on water

The Community Services District will hold four community meetings to discuss concerns regarding water in Rancho Murieta:

  • Thursday, May 28 at 7 p.m. at the CSD Building
  • Tuesday, June 2 at 7 p.m. at the Rancho Murieta Association Building
  • Saturday, June 6 at 10 a.m. at the CSD Building
  • Saturday June 13 at 10 a.m. at RMA Building

CSD leaders will discuss where your water comes from as well as drought and development impacts to your water supply, state drought mandates, the water treatment plant project, use of reclaimed water and answers to frequently asked questions. CSD looks at plant delay, rate increase

The Community Services District board heard reasons why the new $12 million water treatment plant isn’t expected to be online until October at last week's meeting. In other business, the board authorized notifying ratepayers about a “worst case” rate increase of 3.76 percent for its 2015-16 budget, approved a three-year labor agreement between the CSD and Operating Engineers Union Local 3, and approved the Rancho Murieta Association’s application for an irrigation water meter at the North Gate. CSD discusses water plant delays, gun incident

The CSD board last week approved spending up to $304,560 for a temporary filtration system to handle delays in getting its new water treatment plant online. The company overseeing the project came in for serious criticism.  The board also discussed Security's guns-drawn handling of a situation with a resident who was believed to be armed with a semi-automatic weapon. Water levels top 2014 but are still a worry

The first Community Services District board meeting of the year was a three-hour session that looked at the need for continued water conservation, additional costs for the new North Gate,  future use of recycled water, and a bond sale that finances a developer’s share of the expanded water treatment plant. CSD accepts easement plans for new homes

At its meeting Wednesday, the Community Services District board of directors accepted utility easements for a 22-home development in Murieta North and authorized the levy of a special tax on undeveloped property valued at over $21 million.
