The Rancho Murieta Country Club Scratch League Team advanced to the State Finals at Poppy Hills Golf Course Monday. Security discussion of new gate, data collection

Opening the gate on Escuela Drive, collecting community contact information and creating a map of the community’s crime incidents were discussed at last week’s Joint Security Committee meeting. Extra effort to thwart Halloween vandals

Rancho Murieta is bringing on extra patrol help to address potential trick-or-treat troublemakers. The Country Club, which has had more than its share of vandalism lately, said it’s hiring two off-duty deputies to patrol the courses Friday and Saturday night. The community’s Security operation will have an off-duty deputy of its own on Saturday, along with an extra Security officer, one in training, the Community Services District said. 'Wine & Wheels' rolling in Sept. 27

You’ve heard about Sacramento’s wonderful food trucks? The Country Club is hosting “Wine & Wheels” on Sunday, Sept. 27, and some of the area’s best food trucks will be on the 18th fairway of the North Course -- along with classic cars, a live band and two wine and beer bars. It runs from 4 to 8 p.m. and admission is free.

Also participating will be a dozen Amador wineries providing tastings of different wines from Sobon, Cooper Vineyards, Story, Gioiella and Morse, Renwood, Dobra Zemlja, Borjon, Amador Brewery and more. The tasting will cost $18, which includes a souvenir etched wine glass to take home.

Questions about cameras for new development

Last week’s meeting of the Ad Hoc Security Committee was meant to wrap up the group’s work, but within 10 minutes it was clear the Community Services District and the development representative disagreed about a key point – whether the new developments are guaranteed a certain amount of surveillance-camera coverage in exchange for per-lot fees the developers will pay.  Read more » about Questions about cameras for new development

Retreats project map heads for final OK

Approval of the final map for the Retreats West project is on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors’ Tuesday meeting agenda. The item is one of 50 consent items that will be approved with a single vote of the board at its 9:30 a.m. meeting.

Material for the item states that the project has will-serve letters from the Rancho Murieta Community Services District and Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

If an item is taken off the consent calendar for discussion, that item will be heard at 2 p.m.

The tentative maps for the Retreats project and the Residences of Murieta Hills East and West, a total of 282 residential lots, were approved in 2007 over objections from development opponents, the Rancho Murieta Association and the Country Club.
