Boy Scout Troop 633 of Rancho Murieta, which has produced many an Eagle Scout, has its first female Eagle, Joy Salo, who won the honor in December. Her Eagle project? Two new benches on Lake Calero. (At the end, there’s a sidebar on another Eagle, Aaron Fong, who was honored at the same ceremony. He comes from a long line of brothers who were Eagle Scouts.)

The Community Services District is dealing with the weeds around our drainage ditches by using goats and sheep. They’ll be here until late September, we hope chewing mightily.
